^I second that notion.

Honestly, I don't want to bitch, but do you think we could change this thread? I think we all know the advantages ebay...and of course we all love good deals - which is why my heart sinks every time someone post a pair of kicks on here that I'm watching with the intention of buying. It brings more attention and it brings more unwanted bids for everyone. Almost all other shoe forums have a policy of not posting listings still active.

eBay isn't like The Rack, Buffalo Exchange, or any other shops because the price isn't set.

Just a suggestion and if it doesn't change, I won't be mad.

Anybody else out there feel this way too?

sometimes i feel like that way, but we are a community and i feel like i've gained many advantages from this thread and it is effective.
we should help each other within this little community and this thread is one way of helping the members.
anyway ebay auction is a fair game for everyone whose interested in bidding.

I agree. It's sort of a love/hate relationship. I've found some shoes I would've missed out on if not for this forum. I also think that we're small enough that it's probably not adding too many bids... I mean, stuff like wtaps, if labeled correctly, is gonna get noticed by everybody anyway...

I mean, I'd imagine most Vans collectors go-to search terms would be "vans syndicate," "vans vault," "vans supreme," and "vans wtaps" anyway...

Is there a way to make this thread for registered members only? Or is it already that way? Cuz if so, I'd say that's pretty fair, given the size of our forum.

Yeah, I feel the same way as you guys, but you're only speaking for those of you who wear sz11's. Nobody else really cares. Where was all the complaining when the sz12 Supreme Public Enemies had us all bidding up past $200?! Neither me, nor Wolfs, Erwin, etc. posted up that shoe, and it still sold for something like $250+ right? And Erwin was the winner, I believe. He had the most money on it. You can't snipe every eBay auction at the last minute. How about this. Bid up to the absolute maximum amount you are prepared to spend on that particular shoe. In most cases, less intelligent people try sniping the auction at the last minute, with their $5 incremental bids, and they keep getting denied as the highest bidder, and bam, you win the shoes for a steal! I've just let you in on a great secret of mine, now go use it. As for W)Taps Chukkas...good luck. These are one of the most hyped up Vans shoes right now, so if you want them for a good price, now isn't the time to buy them. If it's a shoe you want, you better hustle for it, because somebody's gonna be forgetful, because a lot of people are, and that's who loses out...those who aren't sharp. If you guys didn't already know, this Heads Up Thread section of the forum, is private, meaning that it doesn't show up to anyone who isn't signed in. It's our own benefit, but it doesn't mean you're safe from everyone else who wears your size, and wants what you want! Granted there's lurkers on here, but how often are they signed in? Never. Look at the bottom of the page, and you'll see a list of who's signed in. Now you know why Wolfs and I always give a little shit to any new members who are a sz12...because we know it's more competition with getting shoes from eBay, Brant, and just any limited release, but it also can be a good thing, because if someone decides to sell their stuff later on, you have a few potential buyers here on the forum. All of our Vans wouldn't be worth half as much, without a community like this, because we'd have no way to measure a shoes popularity. Also, half of us wouldn't be able to get any of them, without the people like Brant, Todd & Keith, etc. helping us out, and as well as other members doing local pickups for others. There's definitely more good than bad with this info. Please see it my way, hehe.

Well said B.

I definitely feel like this post is for the OTWS homies/community. We all have to be registered members to see this, and while some might sign up just to lurk, I still feel like this post is more helpful than hurtful. Every time I see something I like here, I think to myself "shit, I hope no one else wants it." While I sit there and bid hoping to get it I think "I wonder if the the person/people I'm bidding against is a fellow OTWS member." I think it's kinda cool haha

And like B said, at least if we lose the bid to someone here we know that we might potentially have another chance if/when they decide to sell that coveted pair.

As usual, it's eBay, let the biggest/boldest/smartest bidder win :D

No I think the advantages beat the disadvantages in a thread like this, and also what Guamstyles said, it's just that every now and again you see an auction that you were hoping would stay under the rader.. All part of the game though :D

Most of the stuff I've bought from being alerted by this thread has been a really good price, too. Maybe there's not as many size 10's looking for the same stuff as me on this forum or what... But I think this is a great addition to the forum.

Glad to hear it's definitely only for members, too. I thought it was, but it's good to know it is for sure.

Plus, I know my limits and it's rare for me to spend over them... I almost always get another chance, even on stuff I never thought I would. Just keep on the lookout and 90% of the time you'll get what you're after eventually!

Yeah, I think everyone has to agree, except when it's something they really really really want. Sometimes I don't post stuff up, and one of the other sz12 guys posts it up, and I'm like "damn!, they found it!", but a few of us on here religiously follow eBay auctions. We sit in front of computers all day, and can do that, and as a side result, we share what we find.

speaking of...relisted DS sz8 MLB x Dodgers Chukka Lows (no box) BIN $150 + $15 shipping.
