I've had people say they didn't like the blues used in these ^ (note: they never saw them in real life) but they are perfect. I also like the "vintage" sole used. The whites don't have that.

What do you mean by the "vintage" sole?

My blues came in today! Can't wait to get home! Depending how they fit, might just be ordering a black pair tonight if I think I can go a half size up or down... Probably a better plan than ordering some campbell's. haha Gotta stick to what's on my hit-list and try not to stray too far...

It's just a cool discoloration that looks natural.

I agree ID, the off soles are so nice. The blacks look so sick with black laces, that's how I rocked em today. My doubles finally came in so zipped em on and now I'll be wearing these for ages haha. I am actually selling my black 003 Authentics so I can grab another pair. These could easily be the most useful pair of Vans I've ever owned. I want a life time supply of Zipper backs haha. Backs and blues, hell even the whites. I'd love to skate these.. They would be perfect. But I just can't justify the price. It's fucked up that Vault uses good rubber, the the SKATE oriented Syndicate project uses the worst rubber. It makes me question the purity of the brand and it sort of breaks me heart, in a sneaker-love sort of way. I just want to be the guy who is in charge of quality control. I would do you guys so good, we'd never see an unfortunate pair of Vans again.

Haven't tried the waxed laces yet. Here's a tip:

That leather zipper pull in the back...Re-tie it. I resecured it to itself and super glued the inside of the knot. When I took off my blue AND black pairs both had one loose, and the other was just about to go overboard. If you need pics of what I mean let me know.

Oh yeah man, I actually did that. I started really paying attention to the back strings because the blue pair I bought was missing one! So I made one. I actually had, under the entertainment center burried, the SAME leather lace! It's slightly thicker but it did the trick and it's pretty hard to notice. I tied mine tight though. Thanks for the heads up though man.

Haha, got my blue zip's in last night and knew immediately what you meant by the "vintage" sole! So awesome! Now I gotta hunt down a black pair... Maybe even white eventually, but I'll probably hold off another paycheck or so for those.

I noticed the zipper is a tad stiff, so I hope it doesn't break at some point! Hopefully it gets less stiff with use.

Been looking for a light blue pair of authentics for a while & these are perfect!
