Must've been used in the late 80's-early 90's as well, I have the same exact pair with the
box,and the box is the early 90's teal box.

So they had both versions of the back stitching throughout 70's to 90's? I know you can tell the 90's pairs because they don't have the leather piece on the insole. I'm trying to date a few pairs that I have. I also have some red Van Doren's. Would you (or Crimson Ghost) know what years the shoes were called Van Dorens for? My feature a white tab with blue writing which say "Vans" right off of the vamp, and the heel tab says "Van Doren" and states that they're made in the USA.
We really need a few Vintage heads to set guidelines for time era's, and we need a thread on them.

Aren't early 90's boxes brown/black? And 70's boxes teal? I can't find any reference pics of 70's boxes but I'm pretty sure that's what I've seen on vanscollector.com
I know that dudes from The Other Side Of The Pillow know a lot about vintage Vans - hit them up.
