^ Over heard this during the Vans Syndicate "Twenty" event...
One of the Vans Syndicate manager/designer said that only 2 designers (which is him and another guy) are left and focusing more on the OTW line.

It does look like a GR, but there's some slight difference. (Of course).

- Herringbone lining and insole (hopefully they stick with it and release it)
- No black stripe on the midsole.
- Mixture of suede (by the Vans stripe) and canvas.

Hopefully they make a Black/White pair.

It's that same herringbone pattern used with the Vault DRI pack, they'll probably dub these with that same "Technology".

I'm coming from a similar spot. Generally, I like the "classic" GR colourways, but I wish they'd be made out of more choice materials. This release is right up my alley, and at a price point (likely) much more affordable than those zip-backs.

I was wondering how the Derby's were going to transition into a skate shoe. I guess they did a decent job, just not feelin' those colorways. Also, they have more of a core vibe to them, than a syndicate.. things are definitely changing..

Yeah it does appear they want to go with a pack that stays classic but still has some attention to detail. Over all should be a solid pack for skating or wearing without all the hype.

Less hype sounds good to me! Dri-Lex FTW. Been a strong supporter of it since the Era Dri LX that Chris hooked me up with!

It does look like an ordinary GR but it's the little details like the tag/lining that makes it a bit more special.

Those Derby's are fucked. If you look at it, you'll realize that it's just a simple version of the Zero Lo, but it's weaker without the actual extra layers that made the Zero Lo so great. I'm mad that they discontined it. The Derby needs to stay a dress shoe. Nothing makes me more confused/frustrated than when a shoe company makes a bunch of shoes that look exactly alike (Gravis, LAKAI).

The Sk8 hi's will be absolutely perfect if they have nice rubber. If they don't, then they won't be any good. When you skate, the rubber is the most important part of the shoe. I can't wait to see it, cause if if the rubber is legitimate, I will LOVE Syndicate again with all my heart haha. And with these seemingly hype-proof colorways and material makes, the game ill be wonderful again. No more next day $300 ebay listings.

I can't wait to log on to Hypebeast and see "aw dude these are gay" and "dude there's no swag in these they look like mall shoes wtf", etc. Syndicate seems to be sticking it to the hypebeasts, and that is so relieving.

Stoked on these. Classic colorway, suede, DRI.. can't go wrong.

Instant pick up, love the classic cws but always avoid em due to comfort and quality concerns.. Soooo stoked!

Some more info. This gonna be a pack that contains a black/white sk8 hi as well and 2 pair old Skools in the same CW.
