JesseC, that whole thing you said about our kicks going up in value, is one of the cornerstone points in why I felt we needed to bring OTWS back. I was sitting on top of a ton of great Vans, as were a lot of you, that were losing value and interest...FAST! Must I remind how many of you sold your In4mation Half Cabs?!? 3ft. High and Rising Chukkas! Checkered Supreme Half Cabs! Almost ALL Syndicates! There's more heritage in Syndicate, and Vault, than in Nike SB, and Syndicate has legit, bonafied stories behind them. That goes for Vault as well. Nike SB at most, has vaguely referenced colorways. As Nike keeps pulling their marketing stunts on sneaker collectors, people will get fed up and will migrate more of their focus on Vans, like we sort of have. How can you not want to collect a Vault x Taka Hayashi x Pendleton collab?! Or a Syndicate x W)Taps collab with spiderwebs on the outside, and lil' embroidered spiders on the inside, as well as a Dr. Marten themed shoe?! Or a shoe that your favorite legendary skater helped create, or once wore? There's something for everyone, no doubt. Some of you were always about Vans, and you get major props from over here, but Vans is set up to recapture a bunch of new enthusiasts. Their CA line is doing wonders for that. Vault is doing there thing, but is not getting much attention because most shops who carry Vault, are also carrying another Vans line, like CA, or GR stuff. Syndicate is making a smart decision by opening up their channels to other skate shops, BUT they have to continue to hit on the collabs that they are so well known for, and they have to really stress the issue of getting the story out there. If they gotta spend more on shop inserts, or accessories like they used to do, or fancy packaging, then so be it. Without the story, the shoe will just blend in on the shelf, like most shops position them now.

Guam ^^^ your post is spot on. And the marketing / story is a major push, and now they will have the budget / #'s behind them to be able to offer all those little extras that make it special. good tings. Can never guarantee that everyone will love every shoe / release, but so far I really like the ideas and concepts they are addressing.

He is on the Nike SB team. The Bones Brigade guys that are on Vans are Ray Barbee and Steve Caballero.
Brant, I have not seen the Holiday Syndicates and won't for a few more weeks.

I applaud you Guam, that was a dope speech bro. But i do think Vans needs to help educate new people about the Syndicate line and how it's not just an "GR" release but that it does have a story behind it . If that means a little more money on marketing than so be it , we all know they have it . But If the Syndicate line does become easier to obtain and more are released than it might turn in to just a Vault/ Cali type line which i really hope never happens. I just hope they keep pushing out great Syndicate releases and push some knowledge on the youngsters.
And i will say it again i can't wait for this coming pack especially the Authentics.
