its the new insole, same as the hunt, wtaps, dill / ave, etc. (although the hunts were extra thin, so these are much more comfortable)

^^^so far, for just everyday wear-ability, I think they are...what they lack in pizzazz is made up for with great comfort, high quality, and a heavy dose of nostalgia. As much as we are all chasing after some crazy releases, its nice to have something so classic and mellow, yet still very special. was extremely surprised they weren't 75 / 85 as well for pricing....65 / 70 is amazing for the amount of shoe you get. (and as you all know me, thats not a sales pitch, just my personal thoughts as the old skools are on my feet this very minute ;) )

Brant i don't give a .... about pricing. All i want is a special/limited shoe and not a upgraded core line.

^^^ loud and clear erwin! (and thats especially good as I'm sure you are paying more in EU) Your comment is very valid.

I have been amazed by the 100% feedback on the boxes as well, literally EVERY customer has said they'd rather pay an extra 5$, and a few even said $10, to get the heavy boxes and dustbag back. (even the ones that thrash them and trash them, they save the boxes....and it also sets the shoes apart on the sales floor, when I bring them out for a customer to try on, it seems so special)

Just goes to show that while MANY do skate these shoes, there is a very large contingent that want the rarity / collectibility aspect to the line....

Brant i'm just pissed about the whole Syndicate thing(didn't buy any off the last 3 releases)like i said here before the av/dill pack was the last proper Syndicate. And why can Syndicate collabo's come as a nice/special shoe in a drawer box!? See the last Carhartt's and a while back the Streetmachine.

Your questions remind me of a scene in a movie from 2004, "in good company" (subpar movie, apologies for geeking out), in which character Teddy K says---
You ask
some excellent questions.

Excellent,
excellent questions.

l'm glad you asked them.

And l'm leaving it to you,

to all of you,
to answer them.
But, in all seriousness----I will inquire within vans and give feedback sometime in the future, when I am able! One thing i can say, is that there are some good things in the pipeline, as you may have seen already. A couple really cool releases that I hope you will like. They have a vision for the program, and we get to vote with our dollars every time a shoe is released.

Well lets see, I CAN get you motorcycle parts (brother is a service / parts manager of a big shop).... and guam can get you home appliances and ps3 games through his 9-5 job....so you might just be set! hahaha, and oooohh the thread gets sidetracked!!!

Sorry guys, back to the topic at hand.

Gotta be honest. I'm glad they finally did this combo. Before Vans did the Pro Classic line I had hoped they would introduce these exact shoes with the drop in PU insole. I wish they would've done a navy and red suede era, but I'm psyched. I would purchase, but I prefer the GR shape of the old skools. Every time Syndicate/Pro Classic does an old skool they make it too beefy looking and I can't stand to look at balloons on my feet.

Brant as always your effort is greatly appreciated. I wish all Syndicate dealers were in the loop as much as you are, but I've seen how swamped shop owners/managers/buyers can get. Even more props to you and your hard work.

Lol, for sure! The Geeksquad owns me. I've been with Best Buy for 12 years, coming up this January, and how do they show their appreciation of service? By changing my schedule indefinitely to a Wed-Sun work schedule, with Mon and Tues being my day off, and working from 10:30-7:00 PM. NO WEEKENDS OFF, UNLESS I REQUEST THEM AS VACATION. All for that needy, pushy customer who treats the priority of their tv higher than anything else. They want us working Sundays now. You'd swear there were a death in the family, the way that some people cry about their tv not working...I really need to get into something other than the technology sector. It's wasted brainpower. Let this be a lesson to all of you! You spend so much time learning something, and then wham, there's some new shit out there. If anybody got this thread off track, it was me! Haha.

and TomCat: I'm with ya. I like that slimmer shape of the GR/Customs/"Ray Barbee" Old Skools. BUT, for me, the Old Skool is just comfy, so I'll take em either way. They always look good with a contrasting white jazz stripe and white laces, though. That's for sure.
