These are going to be a super limited release, mostly in the US, but Sneakersnstuff will get them too, Erwin. Not sure who else in Europe will, but supposedly the pack is limited to 360 pairs worldwide. Pics are up on the blog, via Highsnobiety, and here's a commercial that was made back at the beginning of August:
Also funny to see that they used the Syndicate Jazz Stripe Sk8-Hi, and the GR Checkerboard Slip-Ons for the base shoe. theMenace, where you at bro?! Just kidding.
Man, I NEED those slip-on's! Haha I'm pretty stoked about this surprise-ish drop. I hope it means a drop more akin to the Blends Sk8-Hi than the Old Skool.
Stopped into Blends today, and they had a nice build-out for them already. The actual released pairs are surprisingly more aligned with what a Vault shoe looks like, unlike the ones in the pics above taken from a GR Slip-On and the Syndicate Jazz Stripe Sk8-Hi. I posted up a blog post about it, but here's a few pics anyways:
Nope, no word on pricing just yet, but rumors are that the Sk8-Hi is $180, and the Slip-On should obviously be less, perhaps the $130-$150 mark? Steep, but justifiable with the rarity and amount of man hours that went into making each pair.
On a side note, what's good, but also sad, is that the hipster trendy industry glorifies and charges a premium for this type of hand-made goods, as it should be, but you go to any flea market, and a little old Mexican lady is selling similar goods, also hand made, for like $10. I'm talking about bead bracelets that look like the Sk8-Hi jazz stripe on these, for like $5! You see them at the county fair right now. She may not have made them herself, but somebody else did, for waay less, if they're able to still sell them for that cheap. But I digress, these are definitely being added to the collection. This is what keeps the Vans collecting fun.
Oh, and Firmament has been confirmed for these as well now.
