Second time I ever camped for shoes and it was a terrible ordeal. Got to Active Irvine Spectrum around 3:30. Camping itself wasn't so bad but when they opened the doors they told all of us that every single pair but one was on hold. I've never heard of an Active doing that and apparently they weren't really supposed to. My friend complained to the regional manager who tracked down an 8.5 for us @ Active Long Beach so I picked it up yesterday. UPS messed up with the shipping so that's why they had an extra pair. Pretty cool of them to do that.

Yeah, where I camped, there were 20-30 pairs. Just gotta do your homework. The rumors about Active holding most pairs was true then! I live 3 miles away from Active San Dimas, but I had my girl drop by there on Friday, at around 2pm, and they said they had 9 pairs total, no 12s cause the manager took that one, and 7 people were already camped out! I then thought about going to Advantis, my other local spot, but the homie Stan over there, said don't even bother, we aren't releasing them! Unfortunately, someone spread a false email out on NSB.Org and ISS, about them releasing them, and people ended up camping there! It was a bad ordeal for all of them. I went with my plan C, which was to go to the spot I got my Koston Kobes at, about 45 miles away from my house. They mentioned earlier in the week that they were getting 30 pairs, and were selling for $149.99 a piece. Higher than most shops, but my friends wanted them, and I wanted to help them get theirs. We headed out to Culver City at around 10:30. Stopped and ate Chego's, and got to the shop at like 11:15. About 12-14 people were in line, so I knew we were gonna get a pair, just not sure if we were gonna get our sizes. Morning came around, and there were like 30 of us waiting. They broke the news that they were selling for $179.99 + tax. FUCK! But what are you gonna do when you've camped for over 10 hours? Leave? Nope! Finally, it was our turn to go in, and both of my friends, and I, each got our sizes (I got an 11.5) ! To top it off, they still had a sz11 in the Koston Kobe's! I bought those too, and they're already dropped off at Footage. The campout was dope there, and I met a lot of cool cats as well. The last minute price hike was crap, but it was still less than reseller prices.

That price hike is terrible! Can't believe they did that to you. One of the employees at Active said they were getting 8 full size runs. I figured he was A) lying or B) exaggerating but I thought maybe they had a decent amount of pairs. I have to call more shops next time or ask you apparently! Glad you got yours.

You were at culver city? What shop were you at? Me and some friends camped down at Hot Rod, i think they hiked that price up the most, $206 after tax.. thats that fucking hype for you! But anyways it was cool because they put a sign up on the window giving everyone the low down on how many pairs they had of each size; they had 36 pairs total. Sucks they only had four 11's, one 12, and one 13. Big sizes didn't stand a chance.. they didn't even have my 11.5 :( I got there around 3 and there was 21 people ahead of us, then by the time they opened the doors we had 32 people ahead of us... thats some fucking bull shit right there.. since we were wrapped around the corner we couldn't see the beginning of the line. Only 2 people after me managed to get a pair. Idk why people even bother coming an hour or two before they open tryn' to snake a pair.

Yeah man, some "sista" homegirl was in front of us, and in the morning, all of a sudden, there was her homegirl standing there with her. We didn't see her ONCE during the night. We knew of a few people that were taking sleep shifts, who were in front of us, which was no big deal, since we came after, and we met everyone, and we were all cool with each other...but man, on every camp out, it seems like some shady ass ghetto person has to live up to that rep, and sneak in a homie. No shame either. And nobody else really said anything, because they were all in front of her, haha! Yeah, I was down the street from Hot Rod! I believe our shop priced them according to Hot Rod. Hey, at least you got one. At Active Santa Monica, they had 4 pairs for sale! Brea had 1...fucking 1!!! Oh, I would be bashing shit if I was waiting in that line. Shops really do need to post up inventory numbers, for reals...out of respect.

B, I fig. that the fiasco that were Space Jam SB's would live up to the mind-fuck it turned out to be. This is why I stopped caring and/or camping out for something like that. What's fucked was, that the Active people held pairs and left a meager amount for the public. "Kick in the door/wavin' for the 44/all 'ya heard was papa don't hit me no more..." But if that was your ultimate goal, more props to you for gettin' your size and the work you put in, you def. earned it.
