Mmmm…cookies.

I’ve been a follower of Nikki S.’s blog, OffTheWall, for about a year now, ever since our former OffTheWallSite.com site went down, and she always has amusing Vans related items to post up.  I’ve never contacted her before, but hopefully she will take notice of our community, and will help spread the word about us.  She works in the marketing dept. of Vans, from what I’ve read on her blog, and it’s nice to see another side of the Vans community, other than the skate/streetwear side of the business, which we tend to show more interest in.  I wanted to show you these dope cookies that a friend of hers had made, of little OTW skateboard logos.  After drooling over these, then head on over to her blog to check out the most random, and coolest Vans related stuff you’ve ever seen!  Give us a shout out Nikki, if you’ve read this! – Guamstyles.

Vans Surf Fall/Winter 2010 ‘Trek Fleece’ Pack

New for the Fall/Winter SURF collection, Vans has designed this really nice pack, consisting of a Sk8-Hi in black, khaki, or brown, and a 106 in blue or gray.  Both done up in smooth Wolverine suede that is scotchguarded for the elements, as well as lined with warm and cozy fleece, so you can wear these barefoot.  Both models benefits from the reversed waffle grip trek gum rubber treads, seen on a few recent Vault models, like the Buffalo Boot, or Switchback, which is useful for the outdoors.  Why didn’t Vans think of this a long time ago?  These are both currently available on the Vans webshop, and are priced respectively at $60 for the 106, and $65 for the Sk8-hi.

Vans x Livestock “Painted” T-Shirts by Kenta Goto

Words Via HighSnobiety:

Vans worked with Canadian boutique Livestock for a series of photo tees. Entitled “Painted,” the photographs by Kenta Goto represent a series of textures familiar to anyone who’s ever picked up a skateboard.

“The world looks quite differently through a skateboarder’s eyes. A set of stairs are not just for walking up and down, ledges and planters aren’t just architectural containers and displays for greenery, railings are not just for holding on to….. This series of photographs takes the idea of how skateboarders see and use urban structures and “paint” the city with their skateboards. Skaters mark up and wear out these structures and continue to reshape and add colour to our cities.”

Carhartt x Vans Authentic Pack

Words via FreshNGood:

“After the first collaboration in 2008 – the Carhartt X Vans Chukka & Half Cab – Carhartt and Vans strike again and present the Carhartt xVans Authentic in an extremely limited edition.

The concept behind the Carhartt x Vans collaboration is to combine the brands’ best elements to develop an unique new image. The most recent outcome of this is the Carhartt x Vans Authentic in a special limited edition, a shoe that perfectly conveys the ageless style of both veterans in the streetwear and skateboard business.

The Authentic (the first pair of skate lace-ups ever made) combines a relaxed look with the original skateboarding spirit of the 60s and remains true to Vans’ classic design, which has not been altered since it was conceived in 1966. ‘Less is more’ was the catchphrase right from the start. The Carhartt x Vans Authentic carries all the classic features of this shoe, such as Vans’ signature waffle soles as well as the durable doublestitched seams and lightweight cushioning. As a tribute to Carhartt’s trademark colour, it features a bright orange sole. Additionally, Carhartt’s designers brought their quality standards as well as their extensive experience for innovative designs to the drawing board. The result is a cool variation of the classic Authentic shoe in the legendary and extremely hard-wearing Carhartt ripstop fabric combined with classy suede leather. The Ripstop fabric is a woven, lightweight material that resists tearing and ripping with an easy to identify interlocking pattern. The Carhartt x Vans Authentic will be available in three original Carhartt colors – Black, Cypress and Wall – only at Carhartt and Vans Stores Europe-wide in early November.”

Pickups: Crimson Ghost’s OG Vintage Style44 “Authentics”

This is something new I want to try out.  I want to start featuring notable releases that our OTWS members have been finding as of lately.  A sort of, proper appreciation for those rare gems that some of us have come across.

For our inaugural entry, we have OTWS member Crimson Ghost, all the way from Poland, with his newly acquired vintage Style44′s in the classic red colorway.  These may look like your standard Vans Authentic, that some of you may have, but these are definitely not your average pair.  Upon closer inspection, you’ll see that these are a vintage, made in the USA, “Authentic” pair of Vans, in a near immaculate condition, complete with box.  There are tons of “Made in USA” Vans all over eBay, mostly in smaller sizes, or very worn condition, so it’s rare to come across a clean pair like this.  Hopefully this will fuel more people to go out and find more of these sweet finds, thus contributing to our ever growing Vans community!  Join our forum, and share your collection with the rest of us.  Enjoy the pics!

F&F Customs x Vans Sk8-Hi “SSD1″

It’s been a minute since we’ve had any custom sneakers up here on our site, but recon artist Desp1 of Fresh&Fly Customs has just dropped this new release on us.  Using the popular Sk8-hi model, he deconstructed the shoe, and wrapped the existing material with raw Japanese selvedge navy colored denim.  Faux snakeskin was also utilized on the jazz stripe.  These came out exceptionally clean, and are going to be up for sale soon, on his webshop.  Another notable thing to mention, is that he posted up the “how-to” process here, on how he created these beauties, in an attempt at driving the customization movement for newcomers looking to try it out, in a time when most sneaker customizers have been slowly starting to move on to other things.  If you follow the customizing community, there’s a lot of heads who are getting worn out, due to the length of time it takes to construct a pair of these shoes, and their product not moving due to the higher prices that a one-off design is rightfully priced at.  The average reconstructed pair of Vans, runs in the neighborhood of $300, which is a steal, for a quality, hand-crafted piece of art, that only a handful of people will have.  Think about that, when looking at your next pair of custom reconstructed shoes!  Enjoy more pics after the jump
